Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. To see rates, the quote tool needs six pieces of information: gender, birthdate, overall health status, tobacco use, desired coverage amount, and term. That's sufficient for carriers to quote. We request your name, address and detailed health history only if and when you decide to apply.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
These represent the rates carriers would provide for the health rating you indicated. The carrier determines your actual premium after their underwriting process, which may keep the class the same, upgrade it, or shift it down. Nothing shown here is an insurance offer or a price guarantee.
What happens when I click Apply?
You enter your name, and an application is generated from the specific quote you selected, after which it moves to the carriers' secure platform. The process allows pausing and coming back later, and signatures are completed online. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129), oversees the application.
Will I need a medical exam?
That varies based on the carrier, coverage size and your responses. Carriers offering quick decisions can approve some applicants on the spot; the quote details show whether an exam is required, might be needed, or is not required.
Is a longer term better?
Choose a term that spans the period when your passing would cause financial strain: perhaps covering a home loan, kids who depend on you, or a business obligation. Longer terms come with a higher monthly cost but fix your rate for more years. The quote tool shows side-by-side costs for 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 year spans.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quoting tool doesn't ask for your contact information, we don't sell or share what visitors tell us, and we track usage without cookies. Check the privacy page for a full accounting of what we gather and which parties receive it.
